The Extinct Species
CaspianThe Caspian Tiger which was also known as the Persian or Turanian Tiger was originally found in regions surrounding the Caspian sea with included places such as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey. Depending on which you believe the last Caspian Tiger was reportedly killed in Northern Iran in 1959 or Northeastern Afghanistan in 1997.

JavanWith the last sighting of the Javan Tiger being in 1979, and with none seen afterwards it is believed to have become extinct at some point in the 1980's. The Javan is believed to have become extinct because of the rapid increase of human population during the early 1900's, causing the reduction in habitat for the Javan Tiger and the continuous hunting of the species.

BaliThe Bali Tiger only lived on the island of Bali. They were the smallest of all the subspecies before becoming extinct, with the males weighing 198-220 pounds or 90kgs - 100 kgs. The Bali tiger was believed to be hunted to extinction with the last remaining tiger thought to be hunted was in Sumbar Kima, West Bali on September 27, 1937.
